This class teaches the basic skills of downhill skiing, selection, and use of equipment, terminology, and safety rules.

The written exam will cover material from the textbook. Prior to taking the exam, the student’s skating card should be returned to the instructor

Academic conduct will be governed by the college policy in the DSLCC Catalog.

Plagiarism and cheating will not be tolerated. Any student found accountable for any academic fraudulence will at minimum receive a zero for the assignment in question.

Any conduct or action un-becoming or un-professional while attending session at a different location may result in the offending individual receiving grade penalties imposed at the discretion of the instructor.

Class Attendance is an integral part of grading in this course, therefore, attendance and participation is required to successfully complete the course.

All lessons should be taken at the Homestead Ski Area and completed prior to the closing of the slopes. Usually closing occurs around March 01, but closing can occur earlier if conditions are unfavorable. Regardless of when closing occurs, you are responsible for completing assignments. Lessons are to be spread out. It is not acceptable to complete all lessons at the end of the skiing season

When a student is unable to complete the skiing course or if closing occurs before completing the course, the student should request permission to withdraw. The instructor will not initiate withdrawal procedures; students must assume this responsibility. A student’s withdraw from a course without academic penalty must be made by. Anyone who has not withdrawn by this date and who has not completed at least the "D" level requirements will receive an F.

Office hours will be posted outside my office door. I will be available to assist students during these times in my office. An appointment can be made, if necessary, for other times.

Lesson Hours: Monday-Sunday: 11:00am and 12:00pm / 2:00pm and 3:00pm

Wednesday: 4:00pm and 5:00pm

Thursday: 4:00pm and 5:00pm

Saturday: 2:00pm and 3:00pm
